Numbers Up 53%
Early
indications show a change of management has boosted attendance at
events held in the financially troubled Santa Ana Star Center.
Figures provided by the city show that from April 1 through the end
of September, attendance at Star Center events increased by 53
percent compared to the same period last year.
Lobo
Howl Before 3,500 Fans
Rio
Rancho – A change in venue didn’t hamper the annual Lobo
Howl, which was held for the first time at the Santa Ana Star Center
on Friday night. The event coincides with the official start of NCAA
– allotted basketball practice.
“This was one of the
best Howls we’ve had,” said Lobo coach Don Flanagan.
“It
was fun, too. The fans were great, the place was loud, it was
exciting,” said Lady Lobo Georonika Jackson.
